Bracknell FOE is an active group meeting at The Tea House in the town Centre on the second Tuesday each month at 8.00pm.  Feel free to come and join us more.

We assist local people in finding information about green resources and help people achieve greener lifestyles and living.

We support national and local issues including Climate Change, Sustainable Energy new developments, recycling, mobile phone masts and transport.

Most of our activities last year and this year have been in support of the National FOE campaign for a Climate Change Bill. This has been one of the 
most successful national ever run by FOE, culminating in the Government putting a climate Change Bill in the queens speech last November. This would
not have been so successful if was not for the efforts of local groups such as ours.

The Big Ask continues, but the new aim of achieving a tougher bill than that currently drafted by the government. FOE  would like to see an 80% rather
than 60% reduction in CO2 by 2050, because the science has moved on. We also want annual milestones in place not just 5 yearly budgets to ensure that we
keep on track. And - would you believe that our share of emissions from international aviation and shipping is not currently included in the draft
bill!

We frequently join forces with a local group " Campaign for Real Events" who have a range of pedal generators (see www.c-realevents.demon.co.uk) which
are a great attraction for children, hence their parents, to generate electricity by their own muscle power to energise electric fans to blow up bin-liner monsters with FOE related captions on them, in support of our campaigns.
